Where We’ve Been:
It was raining pretty hard on September 25, but people still came out to Goth Night at El Cartel. From what we saw, this felt like the biggest one yet.
We were back with new pieces, a table full of hardware and Cuties, and plenty of familiar faces stopping by. This time, alongside the DJs, there was a live band: Burial for the Living.
Burial for the Living, back on stage
We’d seen Burial for the Living perform when we vended at Walnut over the summer, so it was good to cross paths again. We’ve sent them CxC tees a couple of times since then, and getting to see them play again, this time here in the Bronx, made the night feel a little more connected.

Having a live band brought a different energy to Goth Night. Between the performance, the DJs, and people moving through the vendor tables, there was a lot happening throughout the night.
The Cuties went home with you
By the time we packed up, the last Black Cherry Bomb had found a home. We also sold out of the Black Metal Hearts and Bleeding Hearts.
Emilina puts a lot of work into each one, so watching people choose their favorites is always a good feeling. Some people know exactly which one they want when they come over. Others take their time looking through the table before deciding which one feels like them.
Thank you to everyone who picked one up that night. We’d love to see where you’re wearing them—on your bag, your belt, or wherever you’ve made room for them.
A Cherry Bomb came back for a repair
One Cutie also made a return visit.
Trash Cherry, who organized the Escape from Raccoon City event we vended at at Lucky 13 Saloon, brought along her Cherry Bomb after a few spikes had come off. We’d told her to bring it by, and Emilina replaced the missing spikes right at the table.
I got some footage of her working the new spikes into place. It was a small moment in a busy night, but one I’m glad we captured. It’s good to see something we made being carried around, and to get the chance to give it a little attention when it needs it.

Thank you for showing up

The weather could’ve made this a quiet night. Instead, people came out, stayed for the music, supported the vendors, and made it one of our most memorable nights at El Cartel so far.
Thank you to The Resistance and El Cartel for bringing everyone together, to Burial for the Living and the DJs for the music, and to every person who stopped by our table.
We appreciate the conversations as much as the purchases. Getting to build Coven x Coven here in the Bronx, with people who keep coming back and new people finding us along the way, means a lot.
Now we’ve got some restocking to do.
